Migrating From Etsy To Shopify - Ep1: Freshstart | Preparing

Migrating from Etsy to Shopify was no small feat. It required time, patience, grit, and determination to step away from an established marketplace and build something independently. At first, the challenge felt daunting, intimidating, and exhausting all at once. However, with persistence and belief in the vision behind The Cosforge, I am confident the brand will become just as successful as it was while operating within the confines of Etsy.

This transition has opened the door to far greater creative freedom. Without marketplace limitations, I can now fully explore new ideas, experiment with techniques, and create pieces without the constant concern of breaching restrictive platform policies. The Cosforge is no longer bound by external rules, allowing for more authentic and ambitious creations tailored directly for fans and collectors. Our inventory continues to grow steadily, and development is already underway for new intellectual property-inspired builds, including Star Wars, Doom, Halo, Helldivers, and more.

During this early stage of migrating from Etsy to Shopify, consistent progress and refinement remain the priority. Each project represents a step forward in both craftsmanship and scale, with a clear long-term goal: to establish The Cosforge as one of the highest-quality prop makers for both cosplay and display within the UK, and eventually expand that reputation globally. Improvements in workflow, tooling, and production processes are already helping deliver stronger, more detailed, and more durable builds.

This journey is about more than simply changing platforms - it represents growth, independence, and a commitment to raising standards. With every new build, The Cosforge moves closer to becoming a fully realised creative studio capable of delivering collector-grade props inspired by the worlds fans love most.
